This week the theme for the 52 Week Project is favorite book. Oh, there are so many books I absolutely love! However, when your dog is named after a literary character you should probably go with that. So, here is Boo Radley playing Boo Radley from To Kill A Mockingbird.
It’s the scene where Boo is hiding behind the door in the Finch house after he rescued the kids, Jem and Scout.
My Boo Radley doesn’t seem as frightened as the fictional Boo Radley did. Perhaps if the fictional Boo Radley had a snack waiting for him he would have known everything was going to be ok.
Just in case you haven’t read the book, and you definitely should because it’s wonderful, Boo’s only line in the book is soon after this scene, he said to Scout, “Will you take me home?” Now you know, when you meet a dog in a shelter named Boo Radley it’s time for you to take him home.
Shadows are the theme for this week’s 52 Week Project. I’m using shadow to depict the way some misinformed people see some dogs. I’m sure those of you with black dogs or dogs of a certain breed understand.
Don’t be scared people. The big smile, hopeful eyes, and the tail that wags so hard his entire bum moves from side to side, is nothing but love.
Last week I mentioned that most of our shoots are done inside because Boo Radley is a bit of a mess outside. This week I took Boo up to Red Rocks and ran around the trail. Such Joy for both of us. I love to be outside and so does Boo and on top of that Red Rocks is one of my favorite places.
I ran around with him for an hour or so and then we took our photos. It was perfect timing too the sun was about to set and the sky looked gorgeous.
Here we are running. I say “we” because I’m running with him taking the photo.
Getting the posed shot. Boo is kind of focused. Sort of.
Oh, another distraction. Rightly so this time. There was a black fox running into the brush behind us. I didn’t get a photo of the fox it was too fast! Also, Boo took off running towards it. Fortunately I keep his leash on him at all times and just edit it in post.
Lucky me! I got to bring Amy and Peyton to the Denver Public Library for a fun photo session.
Amy adopted Peyton and they are so cute together. You can really tell how much Amy just adores Peyton! And what is not to love? He’s so cute and such a good listener. At some point we had a security guard come over and I thought for sure I was about to get a scolding turns out he just wanted to give Peyton a little pat on the head. Good boy, Peyton.
Want stinking cute photos of your pet? Book a session here.
