Nighttime | 52 Week Project | Week 35

Hi everyone!

The theme for this week’s 52 Week Project is Nighttime.

I would guess that most pet photographers don’t shoot a lot of late nights. That’s fine by me, I like to photograph bands when I can and I also shoot photo booths for parties so nighttime dog shots aren’t a normal thing for me to do.

I just did a really simple shot of Boo using a street lamp for light, I would have loved to do more but my awesome husband/dog handler has been out of town this week so Boo was attached to me during the shoot. Lol, I’ll let you guess how well that went.

Have a great week everyone!

Deanna

Seniors | 52 Week Project | Week 34

Hi Everyone!

The theme this week for the 52 Week Project is senior dogs. I took photos of about 75 dogs, a pig, and a parrot this week between the Denver Pet Expo and the Tails and Ales fundraiser and shockingly there were a lot of puppies but not so many seniors.

But I did take photos of Cooper prepping for the Expo and he is a sweet old boy. He’s my lovely friends’ dog and they are kind enough to bring him over when I need a model. I’ve really taking a liking to this spry fellow and they have a dog sitter if they ever need one. Hint, hint, go away guys, I want to cuddle with the Coop.

Isn’t he dashing? Up next is About A Dog Photography, St. Cloud, Minnesota. Click through the links and see all the other sweet seniors until you get back to StinkDog Photos.

Have a great week everyone.

XO,

Deanna

52 Week Project: Week 33 – Rule of Thirds

Hi everyone!

The theme for this week’s 52 Week Project is Rule of Thirds. We are supposed to make a decision on visual weight and apply it to our photos. This week I’m focusing on Jazzy and Jordan’s beautiful mugs, most of the “visual weight” of the photo is concentrated on their lovely faces and showing off their fantastic personalities.

These good looking gals are part of my super hero series. I’ll be posting more from that series soon.

Silhouette | 52 Week Project | Week 32

Happy Friday, everyone!

The theme this week is silhouette. I’ve been wanting to do this theme for a while but I have to say that I simply ran out of time for the shot I wanted this week. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing, I had to get really creative since it was Thursday at 9pm and I didn’t have the shot I wanted.

I set up a soft box behind Boo Radley and took a shot of my handsome dude but the ultra white background and Boo’s silhouette was too stark so I added a texture and a cool blue tint to make it look like a post card.

I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out although I wish my boy was smiling. In all fairness to Boo I was making an odd noise to get his attention and I think he was wondering just what in the world I was doing.

Antique/Vintage | 52 Week Project | Week 31

Happy Friday!

The theme this week for the 52 week project is Antique or Vintage. We could use a processing technique that made the photo look old or use props to create a look. My vintage look is from the 70’s. I’ve got a friend that let me use his 1970 Pontiac Catalina and a super sunny, yellow post processing that reminds me of really old family photos. Of course, I don’t think the photos were originally processed that way but have turned yellow over the years.

We also have our superstar AJ driving along. I was trying to teach her the Detroit lean but, driving is hard enough for a dog. Hey AJ, where’s the seatbelt?

Up next is Princeton New Jersey dog photography, Barking Lab Studio. Follow all the links until you get back to StinkDog Photos.

Drive safe and have a great week everyone.
