Lines | 52 Week Project | Week 13

The theme for this week’s 52 Week Project is Lines. We had quite a bit of snow last weekend. Boo and I took a nice hike up in the mountains and came across this old school house in Evergreen, CO. I love the lines here. The wood was beautiful, knotted, and rough but you can see each plank really well. I think it makes a great backdrop for dog portraits, or in Boo’s case a place to shove his face in.

Spotty Nose Pet Photography in Los Angeles, Calif. is next, follow the links until you get back to Denver Pet Photographer, StinkDog Photos. Have a great week everyone.

Texture | 52 Week Project | Week 11

This week it was my turn to pick the theme for the 52 week project and I picked texture. I find it fascinating to see the detail of things. I ended up using my macro lens for the shoot. So they aren’t necessary cute photos of Boo, but they are fascinating. My nickname for this post is Boo has no privacy. Sorry Boo.

I like how we can see the beginning of Boo’s whiskers.

His cute collar.

Bumpy nose.

Nubby paw pads.

This is more for the hair around his eyes than his actual eye.

But eyes are really fascinating so here is a picture of my eye, from the archive. I think it looks a bit like lint.

Man’s Best Friend | 52 Week Project | Week 10

This week’s theme for the 52 Week Project is Man’s Best Friend.

The inspiration came from this picture of John and Shoep. You may have seen it before, John is holding his arthritic dog Shoep in the water to get him to fall asleep. It is incredibly sweet.

My friend Ben is pretty sweet too, here he is sharing some spaghetti with his dog Cooper. We took a little extra inspiration from Lady and the Tramp.

Ben and Cooper

I owe a huge thank you to Ben and Cooper. Ben never hesitated when I told him what I wanted to do. Not a lot of people will ham it up in front of a camera for you. Thanks buddy!!

Cleo, Boo Radley, and Violet run for charity

I am excited to announce that I will be part of the 2013 Paws For
Charity Project. There are over 90 artists chosen from around the world
who contribute images of dogs and cats to create a book. Proceeds of the
book go to Sheltering Helpless Animals In Distress, an animal shelter in Nova Scotia.

Please visit the Paws For Chairty website and like their facebook page. The book will be on sale in a few weeks. I hope you will consider buying one and supporting SHAID.

Below is one of my images used in the book.

And this is what my page of the book will look like.

Shoes | 52 Week Project | Week 9

TGIF! Shoes, shoes, shoes. That is the theme for this week’s 52 Week Project.

We had a steady stream of construction at our house recently. Boo and I were stuck home most of the week trying to organize, clean, repair, and move things. I’m glad the week is over!

Maybe I should have gone with work boots instead of heels but after several weeks of work clothes and pony tails I wanted something a little nicer even if it was only for a few minutes. Pay special attention to the wood floor, I worked really hard sanding that
down and refinishing it. Hey, I wonder if I click my heels together the rest of the construction will be done?

Have a wonderful weekend!
